Itu adalah reaksi saya waktu melihat salah satu produk baterei di www.ebay.com dengan item number 310138472304. Dari spesfikasi yang saya lhat, baterei ini bisa tahan hingga 12 jam, tepatnya 12:05 jam. Nah, bagi anda yang tidak puas dengan baterei standar 3 atau 6 cell bawaan dari Acer, rasanya anda perlu memperhitungkan produk ini.
Baterei ini adalah produk “third party” atau produk luar dari vendor Acer yang mempunyai harga dikisaran $58 – $80. Tapi membaca beberapa posting di google tentang produk ini, dikatakan bahwa beberapa orang telah membeli produk ini dan menemui masalah bahwa ketahanan baterei menurun dengan cepat atau masalah lain. Tapi hal lain adalah harga yang relatif murah dibandingkan produk lain di semua toko komputer — dan masalahnya adalah Acer bahkan tidak membuat baterei 9 cell.
Jika anda beruntung, anda bisa mendapatkan baterei dengan kualitas bagus yang menyediakan ketahanan super. Salah satu member forum Netbook News.de sudah membeli baterei 9 cell ini dan memposting hasilnya di sini. Dia menjelaskan bahwa baterei ini sanggup bertahan hingga 9 jam pada penggunaan normal, sedangkan untuk menonton DVD, baterei sanggup bertahan hingga 6 jam.

I just received my 9-cell battery (for my Acer Aspire ONE) yesterday from Amazon’s storefront, BrainyDeal. Yes, it does elevate the rear of the computer, but for me it’s the perfect angle for comfort, plus it allows for better air circulation, keeping the unit cool. Because of its weight, make sure that you slide the locking tab to the locked position. It seems that it could potentially slide off without it being securely locked.
The battery shipped with about a 30% charge and they recommend a full overnight charge the first time. Once fully charged, I put it to the test. I have a wireless USB mouse, an external Seagate 250 GB (USB powered) hard drive, Wi-Fi turned on, and screen intensity set to a medium brightness.
After the first 2 hours, the meter was still showing 91% remaining. I did a full hard drive backup to the external Seagate Go Drive, ran defragmentation, and other apps that were disk intensive. Bottom line, I got nearly 11 hours from the first charge — and I gave it a hard workout! I’m sure that under normal use, I could easily achieve 12 hours of use.
The Pros: Superb (totally) wire-free operation, very comfortable keyboard angle when using the laptop on a desk or table, and the blue color even matches my laptop.
The Cons: It takes a lot longer to charge, and it does weigh more than the original 3-cell battery.
In my opinion, anyone who has the Aspire ONE should definitely consider buying one of these batteries. You won’t be disappointed!
